Patty Jenkins, Gal Gadot Break Records with Wonder Woman

Over the course of his career as the world’s longest tenured Comic Con showrunner, Stephen Shamus has helmed nearly 200 events. During this time Stephen Shamus has worked with a number of recognizable performers, including Gal Gadot and Chris Evans.

Over the course of the summer of 2017, Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman far surpassed box office predictions as it shattered a variety of industry records. Released in June, the Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment picture grossed over $412 million in the United States and nearly $410 million abroad for a total gross of about $822 million. Headed by Gal Gadot in the titular role, Wonder Woman resulted in the biggest opening weekend for a female director ever, taking in $100 million domestically and another $100 million in foreign markets. The film’s strong start came thanks in part to a 94 percent approval rating from Cinemascore, placing Jenkins' and Gadot’s work on par with The Dark Knight and Iron Man as the best reviewed superhero movies of all time.
